Disney and Marvel fans have been watching the announcements coming out of San Diego's Comic-Con to see what new movies are planned. Especially when it comes to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, there's always a ton of speculation about what direction Kevin Feige will take with which characters and actors he'll bring to the big screen, and now the small screen with Disney+.
Here's all of the Disney announcements from San Diego's Comic-Con:
Season 2 of Marvel's What If? is coming to Disney+.
A new Marvel series of shorts will be released on Disney+ called I Am Groot, obviously featuring everyone's favorite Guardian of the Galaxy, Baby Groot.
X-Men: The Animated Series on Disney+ is now presented in the original story order.
A new X-Men animated series, X-Men '97, is coming to Disney+ in the Fall of 2023, with a second season already planned.
Marvel also announced that Spiderman is getting his own animated series on Disney+ with at least two seasons called, Spider-man: Freshman Year. Season 1 drops in 2024.
A spinoff of Marvel's What If? called Marvel Zombies will take a look at what would happen if Captain America, Scarlet Witch, Hawkeye, Ghost, Abomination, Captain Marvel and Okoye (and probably more) were zombie superheroes instead of just, well, superheroes.
Another Marvel animated show is premiering in 2023 on the Disney Channel and Disney+ called Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur.
Disney got in the action with the long awaited return of National Treasure. What surprised many was that it's not going to be a movie, but a series called National Treasure: Edge of History. Additionally, Nic Cage is not starring.
A second season of The Ghost and Molly McGee was announced.
The Simpsons (I still can't believe that The Simpsons are a part of the Disney family) will be returning for its 34th season
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will be coming to theaters on August 5th, 2023.
The new Captain America will be released on May 3rd, 2024, and will be called Captain America: New World Order.
Marvel's new Disney+ show called Secret Invasion will feature Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury and will be released on Disney+ in Spring 2023.
While we already knew that Loki was getting a second season, we now know that it will be streaming in the Summer of 2023.
Marvel's Blade is coming to theaters on November 3rd, 2023.
A new Marvel series called Echo will feature the character of the same name we met in Hawkeye. It will be released on Disney+ in the Summer of 2023.
We now know that the Disney+ Marvel series will debut in the Fall of 2023.
Again, the villain from WandaVision is now getting her own series on Disney+ called Agatha: Coven of Chaos. You'll be able to stream this one in the Winter of 2023.
Marvel released a new trailer of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. The show will be streaming on Disney+ on August 17th, 2022.
Another Marvel original series that will stream on Disney+ is Daredevil: Born Again, which will be coming to your screens in the Spring of 2024.
Thunderbolts, another new Marvel movie, will hit theaters July 26th, 2024.
After a ton of speculation about when this movie would get made, Marvel announced the new Fantastic Four will be in theaters on November 8th, 2024.
And now we get to the Avengers movies. The first one will be called Avengers: The King Dynasty and will be in theaters on May 2nd, 2025.
Then, a few months laters, will be treated to Avengers: Secret Wars on November 7th, 2025.
And while we already knew that Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is on its way, Marvel released a new trailer for the upcoming film.
Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will end with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
Phase 5 of the MCU will begin with Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantumania and will come to a close with Thunderbolts.
Phase 6 will kick-off with Fantastic Four and end with the two Avengers films that were announced.
Phases 4 through 6 are considered a part of what Marvel is calling the Multiverse Saga.
Between Disney and Marvel, there were twenty-nine new announcements. After all of the huge Marvel announcements released at Comic-Con, the question I have is... will there be any announcements left for D23 in September?
